Chevrolet Road Coaster at the Ex!

– Posted in: Auto News, Everything Auto, Hotel Reviews/Travel, Partnership

I was very excited to go to Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) this year as it was the first time we were getting an opportunity to visit  ‘The Ex’ as a family!  It was my second time going to this popular Canadian fair since life began in Canada seven years ago. So, you could imagine my excitement considering the novelty of it all.

CNE, Chevrolet Cars 2013

For those of you, who are not familiar with CNE and what it stands for let me introduce it to you properly.

CNE is an annual event that takes place in Toronto during the 18 days that leads up to and including the Labor Day Monday. CNE, also known as the Ex, witnesses millions of visitors every year and it is considered as the seventh largest fair in all of North America. CNE represents growth and innovation of Canada as a Nation. The exhibition ground showcases several buildings and roads named after the Canadian provinces, territories and parks. The Ex attractions consists of shows, variety of entertainment, fairs, rides, games, international food etc. Apart from promoting Agriculture and Technology which is still a main goal, CNE also focuses largely on events that families and people of all ages would enjoy.

And I must thank GM and Chevrolet Canada for sending us the tickets and the Parking pass to attend the Ex, as they were one of the major partners and proud sponsors of Canada’s largest annual community event! We were very thrilled at the prospect of being a part of all the excitement and fun.

Kevin had a blast checking out the rides he was permitted go in and Krista as usual in her stroller was watching the crowd and the buzz around us in fascination.

One of the newest attractions that CNE had in store for its visitors this year was a Zip line ride. It was considered as the highest and the longest temporary zip line in the world. This was said to be measured at 180 feet high from the side of the launch tower and the landing tower stood at 60 feet from the ground. There were four lines, each was measured just short of 1,100 feet and the zip line riders traveled at approximately 65 km/hour.

As I was watching the riders sweeping along the lines, I felt goose bumps all over my skin. I was never a fan of heights and restraints around me, so you could imagine my aversion or rather fear at these types of adventures. But my kids and hubby had their eyes glued upwards while I was scanning our map to locate the ‘Chevrolet Road Caster’ Display area.

It was considered as one of the coolest rides among all the other fun things the CNE had to offer this year. The Road Coaster is a turbocharged ride which you undertake in an awesome 2013 Chevrolet Camaro SS or a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS Turbo! The car was stationary but it lifts, moves and shakes in front of a huge 80” LED screen on a virtual roller coaster track. The feeling was amazing while experiencing ‘driving’ the Camaro on the virtual track holding a ‘real’ steering wheel.

Chevrolet also bought its other sparkling stars to the show like Corvette and Spark. This was also the chance to test drive the coolest vehicles that I have ever laid eyes on! The spell casted by these vehicles was too strong and I was left with wanting more …

Some of the other Chevrolet vehicles that were present at the Ex were 2013 Chevrolet Cruz, Chevrolet Trax, Chevrolet Silverdao 1500, to name a few.

As a pleasant surprise, I met the all new 2014 Chevrolet Impala for the first time! The new sleek design of this Sedan was breathtaking and I crossed my fingers to get a chance to test-drive this vehicle as soon as it is available within my reach!

Our day at the CNE was fun! The food was delicious, the rides were awesome and the buzz was contagious. The company of Chevrolet vehicles and the time I spent with them was the perfect icing on the cake.

****I was provided with free passes by Chevrolet Canada to attend the CNE.  While at the fair, I checked out Chevrolet’s Road Coaster and also had loads of   fun! All opinions expressed here are my own and they are 100% honest*****

I don’t know if I could ever do a zip line ride. I’m not really scared of heights, but stuff like that creeps me out for some reason. P.S. that new Camaro looks pretty nice, they seem to be getting closer to how the classic ones look. glad you had fun!
